Ryan Thompson

Ryan Thompson joined Trinity Capital as Managing Director, Tech Lending in Austin, Texas. A seasoned executive, Mr. Thompson has been in the venture ecosystem with over a decade of experience, focused on supporting venture capital-backed growth stage companies.

Mr. Thompson joins Trinity from Silicon Valley Bank where he was a Senior Vice President focused on working with venture-backed growth-stage companies on a variety of debt transactions, including term loans, revolving lines of credit, and mezzanine debt.

Ryan has supported venture-backed technology businesses for over a decade in Austin, Denver, and London in various roles from building teams, opening new markets, and leading teams. Prior to SVB, he was with Columbia Lake Partners, a London-based venture debt investor that focuses on providing loans to VC-backed tech companies in Europe.

Ryan is a proud Colorado native but enjoys living in Austin, TX as it has some of the best tacos and BBQ in the world.  He loves going on hikes with his wife and son.  Any chance he can get, Ryan loves traveling and has been to over 30 countries

He served as general partner at Point Financial Capital Partners, a venture leasing fund and held a prior role as the president and CFO of InvestLinc Financial Services, an early-stage private equity fund and consulting firm. He has also worked as a partner at Cornerstone Equity Partners, a private equity fund.

Brown has a B.S. in business administration and marketing from McNeese State University and is a current Small Business Investor Alliance – Western Regional Committee member.

Growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana left a lasting impression on Brown. He is an avid LSU fan and loves a good bowl of spicy gumbo on a cold day.
