Senior Managing Director – Credit and Portfolio, Sponsor Finance

Jorge Sandoval

Jorge Sandoval serves as Senior Managing Director on Trinity Capital’s Sponsor Finance group. Jorge is a seasoned financial services professional with over 20 years of experience. He leads the Credit and Portfolio team that is responsible for analyzing incoming investment opportunities and risk management of Trinity’s Sponsor Finance portfolio.

Previously, Jorge was a Senior Director at Ally Bank, most recently serving as the Head of Underwriting and Portfolio Management for Ally Bank’s Technology Finance group. Prior to this role, he had direct experience with deal origination, leading underwriting teams, and portfolio management for Ally’s Sponsor Finance group. Previously, Jorge was a Principal at a private equity group; serving on the board of several portfolio companies. During this time, he stepped into an operational role as the CFO of a portfolio company.

Early in his career, he held finance positions at GE Capital’s Sponsor Finance Group, GMAC Financial Services, and before transitioning to finance at Raytheon Missile Systems.

Jorge earned his BS in Biomedical / Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and Scuba diving. Jorge has been to over 80 countries and enjoys exploring and learning about new cultures.

Brown’s 30 years of experience in venture equity and venture debt is apparent in his ability to adeptly manage sales and strategic business operations working with early-stage companies.

He served as general partner at Point Financial Capital Partners, a venture leasing fund and held a prior role as the president and CFO of InvestLinc Financial Services, an early-stage private equity fund and consulting firm. He has also worked as a partner at Cornerstone Equity Partners, a private equity fund.

Brown has a B.S. in business administration and marketing from McNeese State University and is a current Small Business Investor Alliance – Western Regional Committee member.
