Associate General Counsel

Bill Van Decker

Bill is an Associate General Counsel at Trinity. In this role, he assists with the legal aspects of managing Trinity’s portfolio of investments and advises on general corporate legal matters. Prior to Trinity, Bill was an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he was a member of the firm’s finance group in New York. Bill previously worked as an associate in the New York offices of DLA Piper and Skadden. Bill has significant experience representing credit funds, banks, public companies, private equity funds, and their portfolio companies in a variety of M&A and corporate finance transactions.

Bill received his B.A. from Georgetown University and his J.D./M.S. in Finance from Vanderbilt University. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is a registered in-house counsel in Arizona.

Bill lives in Phoenix with his wife and their dog. In Bill’s free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

He served as general partner at Point Financial Capital Partners, a venture leasing fund and held a prior role as the president and CFO of InvestLinc Financial Services, an early-stage private equity fund and consulting firm. He has also worked as a partner at Cornerstone Equity Partners, a private equity fund.

Brown has a B.S. in business administration and marketing from McNeese State University and is a current Small Business Investor Alliance – Western Regional Committee member.
