Financial Accountant
Trinity Capital Inc., a leading provider of diversified financial solutions to growth stage companies, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its world-class team in Phoenix, AZ.
Job Description
We are seeking a professional, analytical, and detailed individual to fill a Financial Accountant position. This role’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, processing invoices and payments, preparing the general ledger entries, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
To be successful as a Financial Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills including strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and perform under pressure. This position is based full-time, on-site, at our beautiful Downtown Phoenix, Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day accounting and loan servicing.
- Assist with monthly closing procedures, GAAP financial statements, and regulatory financial filings including the preparation of supporting documentation.
- Assist in client invoicing and vendor payments.
- Responding to audit and tax teams requests as part of the quarterly reviews, annual audit, and tax return.
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures; stay on top of technology and systems trends that may contribute to efficiencies and/or process improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams on the development, implementation and maintenance of internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
- Support the success of the team by actively participating in monthly meetings; sharing best practice knowledge; collective problem solving; mentoring; and similar practices of highly engaged team members.
- Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 1+ years of public accounting experience
- Experience in financial statement production, including balance sheet; income statement; and general ledger
- Current CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA certification
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Financial analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of federal and state tax laws/regulations
- Working knowledge within Microsoft Dynamics 360 (Business Central)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, talk, utilize a computer, and read computer screens for extended periods of time
- Maintain consistent, repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking)
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
