Chen Luo

Chen serves as Director of Credit for Trinity Capital and is responsible for analyzing incoming investment opportunities and providing recommendations to the Investment Committee.

Chen started his career as a semiconductor engineer at Cypress Semiconductor, where he led multiple process optimization projects across various areas in semiconductor device fabrication. While pursuing his MBA, Chen served as a strategy consultant for Wolters Kluwer. Prior to joining Trinity, Chen served as a relationship manager at Stifel and worked with venture-backed companies in the technology and healthcare verticals on various debt transactions. Before Stifel, Chen performed business valuation work at Duff & Phelps.

Chen received his B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. After working for Cypress Semiconductor, Chen received his MBA with distinction from Boston College. Chen holds the CFA designation.

Born and raised in Nanjing, China, Chen enjoys reading and practicing value investing and hopes to move to the intellectual village of Graham-and-Doddsville someday!

He served as general partner at Point Financial Capital Partners, a venture leasing fund and held a prior role as the president and CFO of InvestLinc Financial Services, an early-stage private equity fund and consulting firm. He has also worked as a partner at Cornerstone Equity Partners, a private equity fund.
