The Human Resources Generalist will carry out responsibilities in the functional areas relating to recruiting & onboarding, benefits administration, payroll maintenance, policies & procedures, and performance management. This position will maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, operating procedures, and policy implementation best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings; collaborates with external staffing resources as necessary for recruitment support. Assists with new hire onboarding and benefits enrollment.
  • Updates job requirements and maintains job descriptions for all positions. Conducts compensation reviews as it relates to periodic pay surveys, scheduling and conducting job evaluations, monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions and recommending, planning, and aiding the implementation of pay structure revisions.
  • Provides day-to-day support to applicants, employees and managers in the interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Refers complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, payroll entry & maintenance, benefits, leaves of absence, policy development & maintenance, performance and talent management, recognition, and morale.
  • Advises management and ensures the company is compliant with state and federal regulations pertaining to Human Resources.
  • Assists with developing and delivering up-to-date trainings for managers and employees to meet federal and state requirements (i.e., sexual harassment training, etc.)
  • Assists with coordinating, communicating, tracking and finalizing the annual performance review process.
  • Maintains physical and digital employee & HR-related systems and files.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources related roles involving recruitment and generalist responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing, create accurate and punctual reports, and share information and ideas with others.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Skilled with payroll, ATS and HRIS systems. Experience with Paycor software preferred.
  • Problem–solving skills and resourceful thinking.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under broad supervision and exercise independent judgment with extremely low error rates.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of state and federal employment laws.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, talk, utilize a computer, and read computer screens for extended periods of time
  • Maintain consistent, repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
